Mexico Convenience Store Armed Robbery

Mexico Public Safety are investigating an armed robbery at the Casey’s General Store on East Liberty in Mexico last night. [Monday]

According to a release, police were dispatched at around 10:45 and learned that a man entered the store, displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded the cashier give him money. He left with less than $200, and no one was injured.

Additional investigation revealed the suspect fled the scene on foot, and then got into a car waiting a short distance away.

The man is described as being around 5 feet 5 inches tall and 190 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, gloves, and a white mask similar to an “Insane Clown Posse” mask. The vehicle is generally described as a light colored, possibly white sedan.

A K9 unit from the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the initial investigation.
