Senator Blunt Releases Statement On Presidents Trump Speech On Shutdown Over the Weekend

Missouri Senator Roy Blunt is releasing a statement on President’s Trumps proposal to end the government shutdown, and secure the border.

In a speech on Saturday President Trump offered temporary protections for some undocumented immigrants in return for 5.7 billion dollars in funding for his border wall.

Senator Blunt says it’s time for Democrats to get to the negotiating table.

Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi responded by saying eight hundred thousand Americans are going without pay.

Re-open the government, let workers get their paychecks and then we can discuss how we can come together to protect the border.

The government has been partially shutdown since January 18th.
