Fulton Woman Sues Company Involved With Capital City of Lights

A woman from Fulton is suing a company involved with the Capital City Festival of Lights after she was hurt at the event in 2017.

According to court documents the lawsuit is being brought against HomeMaker Health Care due to the fact they failed to keep those attending the event in Binder Park in Jefferson City safe, by using black ropes to secure the displays, which were hard to see at night.

Mary Byrd claims in her lawsuit that she tripped on a rope and fell, which caused permanent injuries to her left ankle.

According to court documents she suffered multiple fractures, and some scarring and disfigurement from surgery, plus loss of income due to the injuries.

Byrd is asking for around twenty five thousand dollars in damages.
