Pursuit Ends In Montgomery City With Driver Death

A pursuit that came to a stop in Montgomery City yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon ends with a driver taking his life.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office assisted with a chase that started in St. Charles and headed west on I-70 around 4 yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.

The driver was wanted by St. Charles Police for suspicion of aggravated stalking and resisting arrest.

Montgomery County Deputies intercepted the pursuit close to the 175 mile marker, where authorities say the suspect’s vehicle hit a deputy’s vehicle, went off the road and stopped in the median between I-70 and the North Service Road.

A news release reports the driver shot himself as deputies approached the vehicle.

The Missouri Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
