Explosive Device Found in Cole County

A man is facing several felony charges of manufacturing and use of a dangerous weapon after an arrest by Cole County Deputies yesterday (Monday).

Deputies say they were called to a house in the 800 block of the AC Exit yesterday (Monday) morning just after 8 for a report of someone making bombs and exploding them.

One unexploded device wedged between the phone service outlet and the under pinning of a mobile home was found, and the Missouri Highway Patrol Bomb Squad were called in and detonated the device.

40 year old Danny Smith was arrested and taken to the Cole County Jail, where he posted bond and was released.
