Columbia Regional Airport Repairs On Track

Columbia Regional Airport Repairs are on schedule, according to city leaders.

The airport shut down this week after concerns from pilots and passengers about a bump on runway 13-31.

Yesterday (Thursday) crews began laying pavement to smooth the bump.

The city is estimating the cost of the repairs could be up to five hundred thousand dollars.

The city will file for a grant from the FAA, that would cover up to 90 percent of the costs.

The airport is expected to reopen next week around April 16th.
