Senator Blunt and Governor Parson Seeking Federal Money For Rocheport Bridge Repair

Missouri Senator Roy Blunt and Governor Mike Parson are asking for funding for repairing the I-70 bridge in Rocheport.

Blunt visited the Missouri House of Representatives this week and told lawmakers that he and the governor have met the top five or six people in the Department of Transportation about it.

Blunt says he also has personally visited the Secretary of Transportation a couple of times.

The state has asked for one hundred seventy two million dollars in federal grant money to rebuild the bridge and for other bridge projects.

Legislators are debating how much state money can be dedicated to the project.
