Jefferson City Planning and Zoning to Address Medical Marijuana Facilities

Jefferson City is looking at regulations for medical marijuana dispensaries.

The planning and zoning commission will address the regulations during a meeting tonight (Thursday).

In Jefferson City the facilities will be regulated similarly to factories with the manufacturing facilities to be located more than one thousand feet of then-existing elementary and secondary, schools, child care centers or churches.

In November, Missouri passed Amendment 2 to legalize medical marijuana in the state.

Also, the law requires cities to develop zoning regulations for the facilities that, manufacture, test and dispense medical marijuana products.
