Undocumented Immigrant Arrested In Callaway County After Traffic Stop

An undocumented immigrant is in the Callaway County Jail after an arrest by deputies yesterday (Thursday).

The Callaway County Sheriff Office says a deputy was patrolling County Road 269 in the Stephens area when a traffic stop was made.

The driver was identified as 42 year old Carlos Lozano-Hernandez.

After inconsistencies regarding his residency status Hernandez was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and taken to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held without bond.

Law enforcement contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency and confirmed Hernandez was not in compliance with federal immigration laws, he will be transferred into federal custody in the near future.
