Columbia Police Search For Body Of Woman Missing Since 2006

A search for the body of a woman reported missing in 2006 is ongoing by Columbia Police.

Investigators say they are sifting through a landfill in Northeast Columbia for the body of Megan Schultz.

This comes after her former husband, Keith Comfort, reportedly confessed to her murder over the weekend in his new hometown of Wisconsin.

According to police Comfort told authorities that he strangled Shultz to death during an argument while living in Columbia, and then dumped her body in a nearby dumpster and reported her as missing.

Boone County prosecutors charged Comfort with Second Degree Murder earlier this week.

As of yesterday (Tuesday) he was still in custody in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and could be transferred to Boone County soon.
