Jefferson City Disaster Recovery Spending Over Four Million Dollars

Jefferson City is estimating they have spent over 4.2 million dollars in disaster recovery efforts after the tornado and flooding this past summer.

A cost summary report was discussed at the Jefferson City Council meeting last (Monday) night.

The tornado recovery spending is around 1.5 million dollars.

While the flooding recovery numbers sit around two million dollars.

According to a Jefferson City Administrator the totals do not reflect what they will get from insurance or an anticipated reimbursement from state and federal governments.

Governor Mike Parson announced last (Monday) night that FEMA approved Missouri’s request for disaster reimbursement in 14 counties, that includes Callaway County.
