Missouri Soldier Improving After Being Injured In Afghanistan

A soldier from Cuba, Missouri injured by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in October is improving.

Staff Sergeant Ian Ives is no longer considered to be in critical condition.

Ives is reportedly alert, talking and making his own decisions.

Ives is a 2011 graduate of Missouri Military Academy in Mexico.

Ives is being treated at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
