Investigation Continues In Fulton Police Officer Related Shooting

The Missouri Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation into a Fulton police officer related shooting death of 25 year old Cody McCaulou last month.

Investigators confirmed yesterday they are now examining forensic evidence to help decide whether the shooting was justified.

An unnamed Fulton police officer went to anonymous call on December 30th, of a reported drug deal near McIntire Elementary School.

A caller reportedly told police someone was there trying to buy a large quantity of meth.

The Fulton officer is said to have shot McCaulou in the head when he accelerated a vehicle toward him.

McCaulou was pronounced dead in a hospital the next day.

The officer as well as witnesses have been questioned by investigators while they await the results of an autopsy.

Once the report is completed by the Missouri Highway Patrol it will be handed over to a special prosecutor who will determine whether the shooting was justified.
