Sixteen of Twenty Two Active Positive COVID-19 Cases in Audrain County Connected to Two Pork Plants

16 of the 22 current active cases of COVID-19 in Audrain County are associated with workers at 2 hog feeding operations in Monroe and Audrain Counties according to the Audrain County Health Department.

The Iowa-based Brenneman Pork has around 30 employees in Paris and Thompson.

According to Audrain County Health Department the surge in cases in the county came from Brenneman Pork employees living in a Mexico mobile home park on Highway 15 who work at the nearby feeding operations.

Health officials report all of the Brenneman Pork employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 are self-isolating at home or are under quarantine orders and neighbors of the trailer park and the 2 hog operations should not have any concerns, as long as they follow preventive guidelines by the CDC.
