Sedalia Drug Bust

Multiple people are under arrest after Sedalia Police conducted two separate drug busts yesterday. At around 5:30am officers arrested 4 people in the 400 block of 4th Street after finding methamphetamine, marijuana, controlled prescription drugs and paraphernalia. Arrested was Laura Martin, Derek Hughes, and Robert Lynch. They were all taken to the Pettis County Jail. Later on at around 3:15 in the afternoon police issued a search warrant in the 1300 block of Walker Circle where police arrested Amy Wood for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and distribution of marijuana along with Monte Gravitt who was arrested for possession of marijuana. They were both taken to the Pettis County Jail.

Columbia Bank Robber

Columbia police are on the lookout for a man who robbed a Columbia bank yesterday. At around 1:00 the Central Bank of Missouri on Rangeline Street got robbed by a white male who demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of money on a bicycle. Police are still trying to get a picture of the suspect from the security cameras but the only information they have available is that he is a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact crimestoppers.

Columbia Domestic Assault
Columbia Authorities say the Boone Co. Bomb Tecnhicians were called in Tuesday afternoon to remove an explosive. 
Police report a domestic assault occurred between a husband and wife at the Columbia Orthopedic Group on Keene Street. Court records indicate Garry Mistler hid in his wife's car until she arrived to her car. Mistler is accused of pulling her into the car, assaulting her and driving for more than an hour, holding his wife at gunpoint. 
The victim was able to flee and Police say Mistler has been apprehended and an explosive from inside the vehicle was detonated in a controlled manner. 
Columbia Child Care Grants
Columbia's low income families get to keep their current child care services as part of a federal grant meant to improve early childhood education. 
Congress agreed Monday to renew the 5.3 Billion Dollar Child Care & Development Block Grant Act that gives parents subsidies to afford quality child care.
The grant renewal also includes new federal requirements for child care facilities including mandatory Background checks & required training for child care educators.
Columbia Prostitution
Two women were arrested yesterday for prostitution according to Columbia Police. An undercover officer reportedly got in contact with the women after finding their numbers on an advertisement online. Arrested was Carmela Sanders and Randi Jo Bryant. Bryant received an additional charge for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana that was found in her purse.
