Columbia Shots Fired *UPDATED*
Columbia Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Washington Avenue in Columbia early Wednesday morning. A woman told arriving officers that a man showed up to her house a little after 4am looking for a cell phone. The woman says she had never seen the man before and he thought that her friend took his phone. The man then threatened the woman with a gun saying if he did not get the phone he would shoot. The woman retreated into the home and was fired upon by the man with three bullets penetrating the house. Columbia Police are still investigating the case and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Columbia Police or Crimestoppers
Morgan County Child Murder Verdict
The Morgan county man who has been in court for nearly 3 years on charges of murder of a three year old found out his fate yesterday. Reports say that Thomas "TJ" Presley of Morgan county was found guilty in Cass County court on charges of first-degree murder and child abuse. According to court reports Presley beat the three year old Blake Litton to death in February of 2012 while the boys mother was at work. Investigators say that Presley tried to cover up the murder along with the boys mother, the two were dating at the time. The trial for the boys mother, Jamie Litton is expected to begin in August in Laclede County.
Columbia Embezzlement

A Federal Court has charged a Columbia woman for a $576,000 fraud and embezzlement scheme. Reports say that 50 year old Terri Lynn Johnson will be seeing 2 and a half years in prison and was ordered to pay more than $405,000 in restitutions. This comes after Johnson pleaded guilty to money laundering in 2013 from the Guaranty Land Title Company where she was a manager in Fulton.
