Jefferson City Man Steals from Wounded Warriors
A Jefferson City man will now be behind bars after he was sentenced for stealing from the Wounded Warriors Project. Reports say that 34 year old Andrew Fortner was sentenced to 4 years in prison on two charges of forgery. According to officials, Fortner was videotaped multiple times at the St. James Country Mart asking for and receiving donations for Wounded Warriors. Representatives from the Wounded Warriors say the charity doesn't do this type of fundraising, and they have not received any money from Fortner. 
Fortner was demoted and discharged from the U.S. Army Reserves.
Callaway County DWI Murder Charges
A Callaway County woman involved in fatal a head on crash in 2014 has been charged with murder in the case. 53 year old Lori Conner of Mokane is expected in court today after she was charged with 2nd degree assault and 2nd degree murder Wednesday in the head on drunken driving crash that killed a 27 year old New Bloomfield man.
According to the Highway Patrol, Conner was driving south on the northbound lane of Route CC when her vehicle struck a vehicle being driven by 27 year old Justin McDonald of Mokane head on. McDonalds passenger 27 year old Chad Fleischmann was pronounced dead on the scene while McDonald was seriously injured.
Camden County Drug Arrest
A Camden County man is now under arrest after a slew of drugs were found in his home. At around 9:30 on Tuesday Camden County Sheriffs were called to the home of Adam Blake Stutesman for a traffic warrant. When officers arrived at the home they smelled marijuana and got consent to search the home. During the search officers were able to obtain 18 marijuana plants and 18 grams of psychedelic mushrooms along with more than 20 rubber tubs filled with growing mushrooms. Stutesman was taken into custody without incident and transported to Camden County Adult Detention Facility on charges of intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Columbia Man Arrested for Robbery, Harrassment
A Columbia man is under arrest after he robbed and threatened a victim. 31 year old Maurice Penny is being charged with 1st degree robbery and tampering with a victim. Penny allegedly robbed the man at his home on Rangeline Street earlier this month and then repeatedly harassed him saying bad things would happen to him if Penny was arrested. He was arrested early Thursday in the 1500 block of Vandiver Drive and had a bond of $200,000.
Highway 54 Car Chase

One person now under arrest after they lead authorities on a high speed chase along interstate 54 on Thursday. According to the Highway Patrol, one person was arrested following a car chase along Highway 54 and Route 179 in Cole County. Reports say that troopers attempted to stop the vehicle near the Lake of the Ozarks before the car continued to drive for 30 minutes. The Highway Patrol says the chase apparently started with a possible home invasion in Kansas Thursday morning. 

MU Suspect Hides in Pond
MU Campus Police arrested a suspect yesterday for a possible DWI but before authorities could arrest him, he took off running. Reports say that campus police stopped William Spark for a traffic violation early Friday morning. When officers attempted to arrest Spark he took off on foot and hid in a pond. He was found in the 900 block of Chinaberry in Columbia. He was taken to an area hospital because of a concern of hypothermia. He was later charged.
