KWWR Sports Report 9/17

The Mexico Lady Bulldogs fell 12-5 to the Boonville Pirates at Gallop Field during senior night last night (Wednesday).

The 2 seniors honored were Abby Oetting and Caleigh Wuger.

Oetting rallied her team in the fifth inning.

The Lady Dogs didn’t have a hit going into the inning and trailed 5-0.

Oetting hit a bases clearing double to give her team a 6-5 lead.

Caleigh Wuger would also record a hit on senior night.

The Lady Dogs would give up 2 runs in the sixth and five runs in the 7th and are now 6-4 on the year.

Mexico is back at it tonight (Thursday) with a game against the defending NCMC champion and conference rival Fulton Hornets.

Game starts at 5pm.

The St. Louis Cardinals split a double header against the Milwaukee Brewers on the road yesterday (Wednesday).

In game 1 Adam Wainwright pitched a complete game and the Redbirds won 4-2.

Game 2 the Brewers shut out the Cardinals 6-0.

St. Louis will continue their road trip tonight when they are in Pittsburgh to battle the Pirates.

The Kansas City Royals with a 4-0 shutout over the Detroit Tigers.

With that win Kansas City currently sits at 5th in the AL Central and are 6.5 games behind in the wild card race, with only a few weeks of the season left.
