Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes took another big step to recovery in the NFL concussion protocol yesterday (Thursday).

Mahomes participated in practice with a helmet, for the 2nd day in a row.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said his quarterback took the majority of starter snaps during the practice.

The NFL network reported on Wednesday that Mohomes has no concussion symptoms.

Even though Mahomes was on the practice field, it’s still not 100% certain he will be cleared to play in the AFC championship game on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills as he still needs to be examined and cleared by the Independent Neurological Consultant assigned to the Chiefs.

Wilks returns to the college ranks after spending 14 seasons in the NFL, including a one-year-stint as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals in 2018.

Wilks most recently served as the defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns in 2019.
