Area Businesses Receive Grant Money to Help With Startup Costs

Ten Missouri small businesses are the recipients of more than six hundred thousand dollars in grant money from the Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority.

Marion County Port Authority got $27,500 to assist with strategic planning and marketing studies for a potential Port Development in Marion and/or Ralls County.

Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture received $86,229 for help establishing a meat processing facility in the Columbia area.

Mid-Missouri Soybean Crush in Auxvasse receives $100,000 for legal assistance for the development of a farmer-owned soybean crush plant.

Palmyra-based Missouri Beef Processors will get $139,590 to help with marketing and business plans as well as legal assistance for establishing a beef processing plant in Missouri.

The grants are funded from the sale of the Agricultural Product Utilization Contributor Tax Credit.
