Mizzou soccer coach Bryan Blitz is stepping down.

Mizzou Director of Athletics Jim Sterk announced yesterday that Blitz is stepping away from the program to spend more time with his family.

He is the only head coach in the history of Mizzou’s 25-year-old soccer program and built the program from scratch.

Blitz posted a 254-216-39 record in 25 seasons along the Tiger sideline.

The St. Louis Cardinals were shut out 2-0 by the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday (Sunday).

Matt Carpenter was a 3-time strikeout victim in the game and is now batting .069 and is 2 for 29 on the season.

The Redbirds fell to 7-8 on the year and sit in third place in the National League Central.

The Kansas City Royals defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 2-0 at the K yesterday (Sunday).

After 3 weeks of the regular season, the Royals are 9-5, and have yet to lose a series and are atop the American League Central.
