Speed Decrease at Scott’s Corner
As we near the new school year, the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced they will be lowering the current speed limit at the roundabout intersection of Missouri Route 19, U.S. Route 54, and Route BB, known as Scott’s Corner in Audrain County, near Community R-VI School.
The speed limit will be lowered by 10 miles per hour on all routes within approximately 0.20 miles of the roundabout. Speed limits on Missouri Route 19 and U.S. Route 54 will decrease from 60 mph to 50 mph, while Route BB will be lowered from 55 mph to 45 mph. Enforcement of the new speed limits will begin as soon the new signs are installed.
The new signs reducing the speed limit will be installed August 18. This work will require a lane closure at each sign location and flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.
