Substance Sent To Missouri Lawmaker Identified As Rat Poison

A green granular substance sent in an envelope to a Missouri lawmaker earlier this year is now determined to have been rat poison.

Capitol police in Jefferson City released their findings yesterday (Wednesday).

The substance was sent to Democratic State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal’s office in April.

Investigators found the package was mailed from a Springfield, Illinois post office, however fingerprints or other forensic evidence were unable to be pulled from the package.
