COOPER COUNTY CLERK GUILTY PLEA TO STEALING

The Cooper County Clerk is pleading guilty to stealing.

According to the attorney generals office Darryl Kempf admitted to leasing a car on behalf of Cooper County using county funds, and then improperly used the county funds to pay off the remainder of the lease.

Kempf was sentenced to 6 months in the Cooper County Jail, however the sentence was suspended and he was placed on 2 years of court supervised probation.

As a condition of the probation, Kempf will pay restitution in the amount of $4,843.20 to Cooper County and $797.78 to the Missouri Department of Revenue, Kempf also tendered his resignation.
