MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE

The State of Missouri will be increasing minimum wage beginning in 2018.

Businesses will be required to pay workers 7.85 per hour, a 15 cent increase from the current year.

This is the biggest increase to minimum wage since 2015.

The state calculates minimum wage every year and it is adjusted based on cost of living in Missouri.

Petitioners out of Columbia, Kansas City and St. Louis are pushing to get a larger wage hike on a ballot in the new year.

The new wages will go into effect January 1.
