New charges are being brought against the Columbia man accused of paying a person to burn down a trailer in 2014.

According to court documents Mehrdad Fotoohighiam is now charged with attempted murder and conspiracy murder for the incident.

The original charge was First Degree Arson.

Prosecutors say the Fotoohighiam paid 39 year old James Hall five hundred to burn down a trailer of a woman who refused to sell her property.

The woman had second degree burns but was able to escape the building.
