Columbia Police are releasing the name of the suspect who was involved in a standoff and arrested for a domestic assault in the 1000 block of Jewell Avenue on Friday night.

Police say 39 year old Joshua James Fay of Columbia was arrested after an incident where he allegedly kicked and choked a woman he was in a relationship multiple times.

Officers say Fay also threatened to kill her however she was able to escape the residence.

Fay was taken into custody after a two hour standoff with police is being charged with Felony Domestic Assault, a bond will be set by the court.
