A homicide investigation is underway in Morgan County in relation to the death of a 79 year old Stover man yesterday. [Sunday]
Deputies responded to 14968 Highway N after receiving a call from the husband of a woman regarding an ongoing assault. The husband was not in the home during the assault.
Upon arrival they found Thomas Chandler Sr. on the floor and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead after life saving procedures failed.
A distraught woman was found in an adjacent room, and was taken to the hospital and later released.
An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. [Tuesday] The investigation is ongoing.
