Auditor Finds Discrepancy In SNAP Benefits

Missouri Auditor Nicole Galloway recently uncovered millions of dollars in questionable transactions by recipients of the funds from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

According to a report, 3,668 cases were found where benefits were used 30 or more days after the death of the cardholder.

2,358 cases were revealed in which the recipient was incarcerated during the review period.

16 million dollars were spent by cardholders exclusively out of state for 90 or more consecutive days, indicating they may no longer be Missouri residents.
