A Multi state Salmonella outbreak including Missouri is being traced back to precut melon.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 10 people in Missouri are sick due to eating pre-cut cantaloupe, watermelon or a fruit salad mix that contained melon and was sold in clear, plastic clamshell containers.
Yesterday (Thursday) Walmart, and Kroger stores in the state removed the products linked to the Salmonella outbreak.
The CDC recommends consumers who purchased the pre-cut melon from Wal-Mart in Missouri should not eat it and are advised to throw it away.
The recall affected 8 other states.
