The Missouri Department of Natural Resources recently approved a permit for an operation that would house 7,404 hogsto be built in Cooper County, near the Moniteau County line.
Area residents cite concerns that the hogs will pollute water sources and air, while the farm has plans to export manure to area farmers for fertilizer.
The Department of Natural Resources says those affected by the project can appeal to the Administrative Hearing Commission.
