MSHP To Hold Boating Checkpoint

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has announced a Boating While Intoxicated Checkpoint will happen at the Lake of the Ozarks sometime in July.

According to the most recent Coast Guard statistics, alcohol use in the leading known contributing factor in fatal boat crashes.

Boaters who come across a checkpoint may be stopped, and the operator may be asked to perform a basic safety check of the boat’s equipment.
