Child Passenger Safety Week

Child Passenger Safety Week is underway.

It started yesterday (Sunday) and will conclude this Saturday with National Seat Check day.

Stations will be set up around the state where drivers can bring in their car seats for a free inspection and to make sure they are installed the right way.

Law enforcement will also be on an extra look out during the week for violations.

It is recommended that a child stay in a booster seat until they are 80 pounds or at least 4-feet-9- inches tall.

Children under 13 are considered to be safest when riding in the back seat of a car.
