Twenty Year Old Man Fatally Shot In Columbia Early This Morning

A 20 year old man is being identified by police as the victim of a fatal shooting on Weymeyer Drive in Columbia early (Thursday) morning.

According to police they went to a report of shots heard this (Thursday) morning around 12:38 in the 3700 block of Weymeyer Drive.

Officers say they found 20 year old Deonte Gainwell had been shot and medical personnel determined he was deceased.

At this time there is no suspect information and the investigation is continuing.
