Jefferson City Man Arrested After Standoff With Police

A Jefferson City man is police custody after an over 40 minute standoff in a south side Jefferson City neighborhood yesterday (Tuesday).

According to the Jefferson City Police Department they found the man in the 300 block of Hickory Street yesterday (Tuesday) after a weapons offense happened the night before.

Officers say the 30 year old Jefferson City man, did not follow commands to come out of the home, and member of the SWAT department were called in.

The man eventually came out of the home, and a handgun was recovered.
