Driver Injured In Shelby County Crash

The driver of a semi-truck that overturned on U.S. 36, one mile east of Hunnewell this morning [Friday] is hospitalized.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 36 year old Ammar Al-Ghafil of Michigan traveled off the right side of the road and overcorrected.

When he returned to the roadway he struck a sign and a utility pole.

Traffic on the roadway was blocked for several hours.

Al-Ghafil was transported by Monroe City Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.
