Possible Child Abduction Untrue

The Centralia Police Department announced today [Monday] on social media that a report of a possible child abduction that took place on Friday is a fabrication.

Centralia Police report their investigators, along with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, performed many hours of investigation and interviews when coming to this determination.

The department apologizes to citizens for any alarm this incident caused, and the department operates on the premise a crime has occurred until there is evidence to the contrary.
