Pulaski County Deputy Injured

A Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputy is recovering from injuries following an altercation with a man yesterday (Sunday).

According to a Facebook post from the department, a deputy found a disabled vehicle near the 21000 block of North Highway 133.

When the deputy made contact with 3 people and tried to identify them, one of the subjects, later identified as Bernard Bailey, refused to show his hands, and struck the deputy with a closed fist, and had a knife in his hand.

The other people in the vehicle tried to help the deputy during the struggle and were able to get the knife away from Bailey a short time later.

The man is also accused of reaching for the deputy’s gun during the struggle.

An arrest was made and the man is in the Pulaski County Jail on a three hundred fifty thousand dollar bond.
