Chariton County Man Sentenced For Involuntary Manslaughter
A Chariton County man is now sentenced to 4 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.
Online court records show that 45-year old James Pleasant pled guilty to the charge on January 9th and was sentenced today (Thursday).
In May of last year, Pleasant drove around barricades into a flooded area of Route M. Pleasant escaped the vehicle, but his fiancee, Alicia Meyer, was in a wheelchair and was unable to get out of the vehicle.
Her body was recovered several days later.
