Grand Jury Indicts Joseph Elledge For First Degree Murder

Joseph Elledge is indicted for first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Mengqi Ji Elledge.

A Boone County grand jury indicted him yesterday (Friday).

According to court records investigators believe he strangled or suffocated his wife and disposed of her body in a river.

Police searched a section of the Lamine River in Cooper County on several different occasions, but did not find Mengqi Ji’s body.

Police said they will keep searching for Ji’s body and other evidence, including areas in Callaway, Boone, Howard, Randolph and Cooper counties.
