Boat Explosion at Lake of the Ozarks

A Richmond Heights man is dead following a boat explosion on the Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the explosion happened att the 1 mile marker of the Glaize Arm at Ridgeview Marina after the boat had been refueled and restarted.

The explosion killed 53 year old Shawn E. Carroll and seriously injured 47 year old Benjamin Dodd and 37 year old Lauren Wilken, both of St. Louis.

52 year old Brent Solomon of Osage Beach received minor injuries; he, Dodd, and Wilken were all taken to an area hospital for treatment.

This is Troop F’s first boating fatality for 2020.
