Governor Parson Saying More Tests And State Budget Cuts Are Ahead

Governor Mike Parson is saying that more COVID-19 tests and more tough decisions are ahead in the battle against the coronavirus.

Parson made his remarks yesterday during the daily press briefing where he called for an increase in testing, and said that by next week, the state plans to test 7,500 people per day.

The governor also said cuts to the state budget will be needed in the near future.

Parson said he will meet with higher education leaders today to talk about what the future of those cuts could mean for them.

The governor said unless a second CARES Act is signed, the state will see cuts by July 1st.
