Highest Single-Day Increase In COVID-19 Cases Recorded In Boone County

The highest single-day increase of COVID-19 cases in Boone County announced yesterday (Thursday).

The Columbia/Boone County Health and Human Services says there were 39 new cases of the coronavirus as of 4pm yesterday (Thursday).

Officials also said residents testing positive has also increased dramatically, from 0.4 percent the week of May 1 to 12.2 percent the week of June 29.

Columbia Mayor Brian Treece and the City Council will consider a proposed ordinance on Monday that would require face masks in public and private settings.
