Jefferson City Man Arrested Following Stolen Vehicle Pursuit

A 29 year old male is in the Cole County jail awaiting charges following a stolen vehicle pursuit in Jefferson City this afternoon (Wednesday).

According to Jefferson City Police, a vehicle was reported stolen in Cole County at 12:40 this afternoon and was spotted by a JCPD officer at 12:53.

The driver of the car fled on foot during a traffic stop conducted by the officer and was caught in the 300 block of US Highway 50-63.

The driver was taken to police headquarters and during questioning, admitted to taking the vehicle so he could go to his Probation / Parole meeting.

Charges, including first degree tampering, felony resisting arrest, and assault on a law enforcement officer, are pending.
