KWWR Sports Report 9/2

The Mexico Bulldogs girls softball team opened up their season with a 9-8 win over the Marshall Owls on the road last night (Tuesday).

Taylor Demint went 2 for 4 with 2 runs.

Abby Oetting went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

The Bulldogs put up 12 hits in the win.

The North Callaway girls softball team defeated South Callaway 18-1 last night.

Thunderbirds starting pitcher Haley Kimbley threw a one-hitter.

The St. Louis Cardinals routed the Cincinnati Reds 16-2 on the road last night.

The Redbirds had a 6 run first inning with 2 home runs from Brad Miller and 23 hits total in the victory.

It was the Cardinals third win in a row and they look for the sweep today.

The Kansas City Royals with a 10-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians. Royals starting pitcher Matt Harvey lasted just 1 1/3 innings giving up 6 hits and five runs including 3 homers.

The SEC Network and ESPN have released some of the televised games for Mizzou Football this season.

ESPN will carry the Tigers game against Alabama in prime time on September 26th.

The SEC Network will show Mizzou against Tennessee on October 3rd, vs. Vanderbuilt on October 17th and against Kentucky on October 31st.
