The Kansas City Royals baseball game was delayed yesterday (Sunday) after an hours-long standoff with a person that was armed with 2 handguns and a knife.

According to police it started on Saturday night and ended yesterday morning (Sunday) just outside of Arrowhead Stadium.

Officers say the gunman was firing at Arrowhead Stadium home of the Kansas City Chiefs.

No injuries were reported as employees were able to get out of harms way.

Police were able to arrest the man and the Royals game at nearby Kaufman Stadium was able to get underway.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 10-5 yesterday at Busch Stadium (Sunday) in their series finale against the Cincinnati Reds.

The Redbirds finished up a 7 game home-stand with 3 wins and 4 losses.

St. Louis starts a long trip today with a doubleheader against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Kansas City Royals extended their winning streak to six after pummeling the Pittsburgh Pirates 11-0 yesterday (Sunday).

Hunter Dozier belted his sixth home run of the year in the win.

The Royals improved their record to 20-28 on the season and will be off today (Monday) before heading to Detroit for a 2 game series with the Tigers.
