KWWR Sports Report 10/14

It is win or go home as District Playoffs start for girls high school softball today (Wednesday).

The Mexico Bulldogs are a 3 seed and face the 6th seeded Sothern Boone Eagles in Moberly tonight (Wednesday).

The game starts at 8pm.

The Moberly High School boys soccer will not play its regularly scheduled games this week.

The Moberly Athletics Department posted on Twitter yesterday (Tuesday) the games are being canceled due to COVID-19 related issues.

On Monday, the district announced 2 positive coronavirus cases.

Both cases were high school students, 31 additional high school students are quarantining as a result.

Last night’s (Tuesday) game at Hannibal, tomorrow’s (Thursday) game at Boonville and Saturday’s game against Marshall are all canceled at this time.

The Missouri Tigers opponent for next Saturday in college football, the Florida Gators have paused team activities yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon due to an increase of COVID-19 cases.

According to a team press release, Florida has experienced an increase in positive coronavirus tests among players this week.

Florida was set to host Mizzou next Saturday, October 24th at 6pm or 6:30pm.

The circumstances will be re-evaluated by University of Florida Health and Athletic Department’s Sports Medicine staff today (Wednesday).
