Former Center City Clerk Pleading Not Guilty in Federal Court

The former Center city clerk is pleading not guilty to 3 counts of wire fraud and one count of federal program theft.

48 year old Tracey Ray, was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 5th on charges of wire fraud and is accused of siphoning almost three hundred seventeen thousand dollars from Center taxpayers and creating false financial statements as clerk.

She entered her plea last week after appearing before a federal magistrate judge in U.S. District Court by video conference.

Ray was released on a recognizance bond.

If Ray is convicted she could face up to 20 years in prison, and a maximum fine of $250,000 for wire fraud and 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000 for federal program theft.
