Man Arrested After Barricading Himself in a Columbia Residence

A Columbia man who barricaded himself in a house in the 3500 block of New Haven Road yesterday (Wednesday) is now in police custody.

Columbia police say they tried to conduct a traffic stop on 42 year old Douglass Antonio Lee who was known to have several felony warrants.

The vehicle fled and a pursuit began near East Broadway.

Officers terminated the pursuit as it entered the downtown area, however were able to locate Lee who had barricaded himself at a residence for more than 4 hours.

Police say Lee was armed with a pistol when officers arrested him.
