Two Railroad Owned Property Fires in Mexico This Week

Mexico Public Safety is reporting 2 fires on railroad property this week.

Yesterday (Thursday) at 4:58pm Public Safety went to the 400 block of Fairground and found what appeared to be a campsite on fire in the trees along Ozark Valley Railroad line.

The fire was put out before it damaged other property, however the clothes and bedding material in the campsite were destroyed according to Public Safety.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Mexico Public Safety also responded to unattended campfires in the tree line along the Kansas City Southern/Norfolk Southern rail lines in the area of 1100 block of West Monroe.

Both fires were extinguished.

And no injuries were reported from any of those incidents.

Public Safety is reminding that using any railroad property is trespassing and can result in a fine.
