Ameren Corp Nuclear Plant Shuts Down for Third Time in Nine Months
An Ameren Corporation Nuclear Plant located about 30 miles north of Jefferson City is shutting down operations for a third time in nine months due to an issue involving its generator.
According to a statement from the company the issue happened when the plant was ramping up after maintenance.
The company has 60 days to report specifics of the problem to federal authorities.
Ameren did not say when they anticipate the plant to be back online.
The plant also shut down in April and September.
